Painting around your trading hours

A commercial repaint that closes the business costs far more than the painting. We build the programme around your operating hours instead: after-hours work for front-of-house areas, staged sections for open-plan floors, and sequencing that leaves the space usable the next morning.

Staging is planned before pricing, not improvised on site. Each stage is masked, painted, dried and reopened before the next begins, so staff arrive to a working office rather than a work site. Where a space stays occupied through the day, we specify low-odour, low-VOC systems so fresh paint does not follow the repaint into trading hours.

The programme comes in writing with the quote: which areas, which sessions, and the date the job finishes.

The paperwork before the paint

Commercial sites run on compliance, and painting contractors are not exempt. Before work starts we supply our Painting and Decorating Contractors Licence 222321C and the certificate of currency for our $20M public liability insurance, the 2 documents every building or facilities manager checks first.

Site inductions and safe work documentation are completed before day 1, not on the morning of it, so access passes, contractor registers and building management sign-offs never hold up the programme. If your building runs its own contractor approval process, we work through it before the quote is accepted, so the start date in the programme is a real one.

Specifying coatings for hard use

Commercial surfaces are touched, scuffed, trolleyed and cleaned in ways home walls never are, and the coating specification has to match. Corridors and high-traffic walls get scuff-resistant acrylics. Offices and consult rooms get washable low-sheen finishes that survive regular wipe-downs without burnishing or wearing through.

Doors and frames take the hardest use in any commercial building, so we finish them in 2-pack systems applied by spray, a hard, factory-smooth surface a brush cannot reproduce. External walls that attract tags are coated in anti-graffiti systems, turning graffiti removal into a wash-down instead of a repaint. Every specification is written into the quote surface by surface, so you know which product goes on which wall and why.

Area is the obvious one, the square metres of wall, ceiling, door and trim being coated and the number of coats each needs. Floor plans hide the things that change the number: ceiling heights, substrate condition, furniture density and how the building is used through the day.
