From Federation homes west of the highway to the family houses and bushland edges of East Lindfield, we paint Lindfield properly: washed, prepared, primed and finished to last.
Award Painting has worked across all three since 2007. Licence 222321C, $20M public liability insurance and a fixed written quote after a walkthrough come with every Lindfield job.
The older Lindfield houses are timber-heavy: weatherboard gables, fretwork, turned posts, casement windows with original putty and wide fascias. Preparation is where the job is won. We scrape failing paint to a sound edge, feather, spot-prime bare timber with an oil-based primer, replace shrunk putty and fill with flexible fillers before any topcoat. Pre-1970 paint is handled as lead-bearing with wet methods and containment.
Colour on these homes matters to the street. Our free colour consultation prepares heritage-appropriate schemes and tests them on sample boards in your light, not under shop lighting.
East Lindfield’s family homes face different problems. Western and northern walls take hard sun and chalk; eaves and fascias near the bush collect debris and stay damp; sloping blocks make access the biggest cost line in a quote. Many of these homes are in or near bushfire-prone land, and we can advise on coating choices and ember-resistant detailing for timber where that applies.
Brick veneer and cement-sheet homes from the 1960s to 1990s often need gutters, fascias and window frames repainted in enamel, rendered sections recoated and cladding washed and resealed. We plan safe access on steep sites with planks, platforms or scaffold rather than overreaching from ladders.
Strata buildings around the station need a painter who writes a scope a committee can approve and then keeps residents informed. Lobbies, stairwells and corridors are staged so access is never blocked, low-odour products are used indoors, and facades are planned with the right access method. See our strata painting and maintenance program pages for how we handle multi-year schedules.
Lindfield is about 15 minutes from our base near Hornsby. We also paint in Killara, Gordon, Chatswood and Pymble.
The craft
Sharp tape lines, clean brushes, the right product for the right surface. Small habits, repeated on every job, are what a premium finish is made of.

Questions
Anything else? Call us or send a message and we will give you a straight answer.

Every quote starts with a free walkthrough. We look at the condition of the existing paint, access, the number of colours and how much trim there is, then put a fixed price in writing with preparation, coats, repairs and access itemised. Preparation overruns are carried by us, not added to your bill.
Yes. Award Painting Pty Ltd holds NSW Painting and Decorating Contractors Licence 222321C and carries $20M public liability insurance. Both are shown on every quote and can be checked against the NSW Fair Trading licence register.
Access is one of the four drivers of any painting price, and on a steep block it can be the biggest. We cost the safest practical method, usually scaffold, planks or a platform, and show it as a separate line so you can see what the slope is adding.
Paint applied before 1970 almost certainly contains lead. It is safe when intact and sealed, and it becomes a risk when it is sanded dry or left to flake. We prepare it with wet methods, contain the waste and clean the site thoroughly, which is also why we never dry power sand an old house.
A full interior of a 3 or 4 bedroom home usually takes 5 to 8 working days. A full exterior takes 1 to 3 weeks depending on size, access and how much timber needs preparation. You get a start date and a finish date in writing, and the same crew stays on the job from the first day to the last.
A colour consultation valued at $275 is included free with every quote. We look at the orientation of each wall, the roof and brick colours you are keeping, the street and the light under your trees, then test sample boards on the house rather than choosing from a chip.
